Under general supervision of the Director of Special Events & Guest Services, and direct supervision of the Assistant Director, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for major events like convocation, graduation ceremonies, academic and administrative presentations. The incumbent will be the liaison between Special Events and other campus entities who support video production and broadcast. The following are the main duties:
Coordinating, scheduling, set-up and operation of University media events.
Coordinate with event organizer in a public relations capacity to determine audio/visual equipment needs.
Set-up equipment for events, facilitate the use of the equipment during events, and dis-assembly of media equipment after events.
Scheduling and equipment inventory for event productions.
Support end-users in the use of media equipment in non-state supported facilities (e.g. Commons).
Work with other technicians in the design, budgeting and installation of new or replacement media equipment at the University.
Applicants must possess the following:
The equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Media/Communications or similar field, along with two years of related experience, preferably as a coordinator of sound systems and multimedia presentation set-ups.
Working knowledge of Audio Analyzer tools, Public address systems, audio mixing boards, audio effects, equalizers, direct box, digital snake, Digital Signal Processor, various microphones, power amplifiers, video/data projectors, VCR/DVD, audio CD and digital audio formats.
Experience using both MAC/PC operating systems and presentation application software (i.e., MS PowerPoint).
General knowledge of electronic circuitry.
Ability to be a creative team player along with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Professional and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
