Anesthesia Technical Services at the UW Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time (100%) Anesthesiology Technician Lead. In support of excellent direct patient care, this individual will be the champion of team ethos and collaborate with the Anesthesia Services Manager to "stitch" efficiency with optimal department operations. This is a hands-on, operations lead role that orchestrates real-time solutions and navigates the flow within our OR/units. A boots-on-the-ground medical role, the Lead focuses on continuous improvement, excellence, and growing high-performing teams. Serves as a natural bridge-builder to other departments, and suit-up to lead by example and to be hands-on Tech. The Lead takes the steering wheel to move our fast-paced anesthesia tech services to the next level of success.
Be in the field as the onsite primary contact for smooth coordination of daily flow of services with Anesthesiology Technicians and the oversight of supplies and equipment. We strive to create a rewarding and challenging environment where each member of our Anesthesia Technical Services team can achieve success while contributing to excellence in patient care every single day.
Services Leads daily activities and services at all Anesthesia locations. Works with Manager to develops policies and procedures. Assists in quality assurance programs as directed by Manager. Participates in process improvement committees, as assigned. Performs as Anesthesiology Technician 2 as required and directed by Manager.
Staffing Ensures appropriate staffing on the floor. Schedules assignments and breaks for the Anesthesia team, creating staffing/scheduling grids as directed by Manager. Coaches other Anesthesia Technicians on performance, escalating situations if needed to the attention of Manager. Assists in the recruitment and evaluation of Anesthesiology Technicians. Leads staff development, training, new employee orientation, as directed by Manager.
Inventory and Equipment Responsible for proper control of records and inventories. Troubleshoots and coordinates equipment repairs. Coordinates stock inventories with purchasing. Maintains knowledge of vendor product upgrades.
Education/Training Identifies, schedules, and participates in education and training needs and opportunities.
Other Participates in professional and educational events relevant to Anesthesiology Technicians. Promotes service to patients, public and hospital staff. Performs other related tasks as needed.
Associate of Arts Degree in Biomedical Electronics or Two years of postsecondary education/training with emphasis in the sciences and two years of experience as an Anesthesiology Technician II or equivalent or Three years of experience as an Anesthesiology Technician II or equivalent.
Solid ASATT certified Anesthesia Tech with solid, well-rounded technical and operations experience. Demonstrated track record of successful collaborations, excellence, and making a positive difference. ASATT certified. Experience or familiarity with LEAN, Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S, etc. Process improvement experience. Team building experience. Leadership experience in a healthcare setting. Results-oriented attitude, adaptability, and flexibility.
