To provide technical and behind-the-scenes support in the use of simulators and medical equipment for both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Responsible for preparing and maintaining lab equipment, computers, and moulage related to simulation learning exercises in a hospital environment. Will assist student and faculty with simulation work and preparation for nursing lab experiences.
1.Prepare simulators, supplies, and moulage/props for each semester course skills labs and scenarios
2.Operates simulation manikin sessions and audio/visual equipment used in simulation based on priority identified by the Simulation Operations Manager or Lead Simulation Technician.
3.Assists with training faculty and GTAs in the use of simulation equipment. Serves as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation.
4.Supports tours and simulation sessions for internal/external groups and/or individuals
5.Provide training and technical support for recording and playback using audio-visual recording system
6.Clean and maintain simulators and task trainers.
7.Diagnose and/or troubleshoot human patient simulator maintenance issues, and video, audio, and manikin local network systems using DFUs/operator’s manuals
8.Conducts simulator operational checks prior to scheduled simulation periods
9.Programs and operates human patient simulators and related video recording equipment.
10.Conduct tours and simulation demonstrations for internal and external groups or individuals.
11. Assists in the inventory of supplies and equipment.
12. Provide recommendations for budget and purchase of equipment, supplies, and materials related to simulation operations.
13.Advise on maintenance and operations activities of simulation equipment, and report on them.
14.Maintains current knowledge of simulation equipment catalogs and operation manuals (DFUs).
15.Maintain current knowledge of best practices through applicable organizations, and professional development training.
16.Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment as needed for simulation
17.Assist with tracking of ongoing supply usage.

Technical Certificate / Associate degree or equivalent required. Such support disciplines as biomedical, medical, electronics, computer information technologies, logistics, supply management, management, pharmacy technology or theater arts preferred. Proficiency with PC and relevant software applications. Detail Oriented. Must present with excellent communications and interpersonal relationship skills. Must work effectively both as a team player and independently. Must be a proactive thinker. Effective presentation skills highly desirable. May require some travel. General supervision by the Operations Manager and indirect supervision by the Lead Simulation Technician in all phases of work performed.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Such support disciplines as biomedical, medical, electronics, computer information technologies, logistics, supply management, management, pharmacy technology or theater arts preferred. One year of experience with simulation technology, medical field, Audio/Visual or equivalent preferred.
