To perform professional level engineering and scientific research assignments. Performs supervisory or highly complex engineering work at a professional level in the evaluation, review, selection, adaptation, and modification of standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria.
1.Reviews plans, specifications and engineering reports for new or modified public water systems for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
2.Coordinates or performs technical data collection, research, analysis, evaluations, inspections, or surveys and evaluates impacts.
3.May supervise, coordinate, and review the work of others, and may be assisted on projects by engineers, other professionals, or technicians.
4.Makes and records observations and measurements.
5.Work may result in the development of new or refined techniques, procedures, equipment, processes, products, and/or scientific methods.
6.May coordinate the work of division level technical staff.
7.Performs other duties assigned.
Master’s degree in the field of assignment.
Four years of full-time engineering experience. Direct related experience may substitute for required education. An Engineering-in-training (E.I.T.) certificate will substitute for six months of the required experience.
