Position Description: Maintains laboratories and equipment and provides electronics expertise and technical support to the Washkewicz College of Engineering (WCE) faculty, staff, students and guests. Performs preventive maintenance and calibration of assigned equipment. Maintains assigned facilities and laboratories. Ensures the presence of fire and safety equipment and provides instruction on laboratory and fire safety. Represents the WCE on the Radiation Safety Committee. Assists Property Control personnel in maintaining an updated equipment inventory list in all WCE departments. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in Electronic Technology or equivalent vocational/technical training. Five years paid work experience in use, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment. Demonstrated skill in use of electronic test equipment and tools. Demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting schematic diagrams, technical manuals and information. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of technical terminology. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Physical ability to perform all job duties.
Preferred Qualifications: Eight years experience in maintenance and repair of electronic equipment. Supervisory or training experience.
