Under general direction, installs repairs and maintains electronic access control equipment within parking ramps, electronic parking meters, transit fare box equipment, parking and transit facility electrical equipment and building operational equipment, performs preventative maintenance and records preventative maintenance work performed in computer system. Assists with various projects related to parking ramp restoration, collection of parking revenue, snow removal and painting projects. Conducts routine preventive maintenance on parking access and revenue control equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs electronic issues with access and revenue control equipment, electronic parking meters, fare revenue collection equipment and operational equipment within facilities. Operates trucks, skid loaders, end loaders, snow plows, paint sprayers, power washers and sweepers in performance of work assignments. Uses various hand tools and equipment typical in the electrical trade. Performs snow plowing and removal from downtown metered parking stalls, parking lots and parking ramps. In summer months will assist with parking painting projects. Repairs and installs facility lighting - fixtures, ballast and underground electrical wiring. Will perform work related to parking ramp facility maintenance. Installs access control devices including bases, conduit and wire. Collects parking revenue from parking meters on street and within parking ramps. Reviews plans for electrical improvements. Orders access control parts and maintains inventory. Organizes and leads projects in problem solving; answers technical questions. Responds to calls for service regarding access and revenue control equipment, electronic parking meters, fare revenue collection equipment and building operational equipment. Conducts self in a manner which promotes and supports diversity and inclusivity in the workplace and community. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

High school degree or equivalent required. Five years of experience in electronics and electrical wiring required. One year of college or technical school from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body with coursework in electronics preferred. Journeyman Electrician preferred. Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record required. Must be 18 years of age per Iowa Code 92.8. Must pass criminal background check.
