The Service and Repair Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, disassembly, testing, and assembly of electro-mechanical medical devices. All service work performed must be clearly documented in the approved Service/Complaint Handling System (TrackWise). Works from documented procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, or sketches as defined in the company Electronic Systems /Quality System.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs wiring, soldering, assembling and test of electronic components to make subassemblies and finished goods for end item products.
Generates and executes upon formal test protocols and reports.
Sets up and operates test equipment and records measurements.
Maintains accurate data and assists with analysis.
Provides process/test method training to manufacturing/QC personnel and other technicians.
Able to understand and document issues related to returned devices returned for service. Follows up with options for repairs to service center.
Investigates, confirms original complaint, repairs and calibrates customer returned equipment.
Documents the activities required to repair returned equipment per corporate standards and local procedures.
Tracks customer owned equipment through the Service/Complaint handling system and reports status to Field Assurance for respective division.
Participates in the development of local documentation for equipment repair.
Supports production with diagnosing potential new failure modes with manufactured equipment
Identify any negative trends for the devices serviced.
Will assist in the support of Quality and Regulatory to ensure systems are in compliance with all internal and external guidelines.
Maintains working knowledge of company policies and procedures, ISO and FDA requirements.
Back-up technical contact for customer issues.
Assists manufacturing department as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
An Associate's Degree in electronic engineering technology with 1-2 years related experience.
