Manage and maintain equipment and laboratory safety in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering research laboratories. Reports to designated supervisor.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Develop and execute laboratory safety programs for the Fuel Cell / Sustainability Lab and other research laboratories in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering.
Manage and coordinate maintenance, operation and training of the laser sintering / 3D printing equipment and other lab equipment.
Assist researchers with equipment and facility needs.
Manage the inventory of lab equipment/instruments, chemicals and supplies.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Additional Examples of Duties – if applicable:
Associate's degree in engineering, engineering technology or related field. One year experience with parametric modeling software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Solid Edge), 3D printing and additive manufacturing, and maintaining complex electronic/computer hardware or scientific equipment.

Additive manufacturing or 3D printing systems, processes, metal and/or ceramic materials
Electrical and mechanical equipment setup and operation
Verbal, written and interpersonal communication
Follow lab safety protocols and generate new protocols as necessary
Provide guidance on the use of equipment and lab instruments
Read and interpret complex drawings and designs for 3D objects

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written. May be exposed to equipment and instruments that use high power laser, high voltages, high current, high pressure, low vacuum, and/or high or low temperatures. May be exposed to combustible and/or corrosive chemicals/materials. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building and off campus occasionally.
Must pass a security check.
