The Air Quality Technician 2 provides general, preventive, and mechanical maintenance to any assigned Student Life buildings and operations, which may include Campus Dining; plans and performs preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance to Park-Stradley geothermal HVAC and mechanical systems; routinely inspects and makes necessary operational changes to equipment using direct digital control programs; records and reports findings, makes recommendations for review of equipment operation; identifies necessary preventative maintenance and procedures for all related mechanical equipment; monitors and maintains water treatment; performs skilled installation and repair of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating, building mechanical and electrical equipment, domestic water and drainage systems; works on pneumatic and electric/electronic controls; repairs and replaces air compressors, pumps, belts, bearings, fans, motors and filters; repairs steam traps, components and related equipment; installs and repairs system piping; repairs commercial kitchen equipment; inspects and maintains life safety systems and maintains records; serves as functional crew leader; must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding and operate personnel lifts; generally works first shift 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; subject to 24-hour emergency call-ins; operates departmental vehicles.

7th grade; 600 hours of training in refrigeration, heating & air-conditioning equipment (or six months of experience); three courses in supervision (or three months of experience); successfully pass Student Life's Driver Registration check.
Training and experience in geothermal air conditioning systems; ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, and picture instructions, and apply mechanical principles to solve practical problems; ability to climb ladders and scaffolding intermittently; EPA Universal Certification on Air Conditioning equipment required by end of the 6th-month probationary period.
Target Salary: $15.61 - $24.48 Hourly
