Position Summary Medical Records Tech Compass Oncology - Pacific Northwest's largest privately own multi-clinic cancer care center - is looking for a Medical Records Tech to join their team. An important part of the patient experience, the Medical Records Tech helps to maintain, protect, and distribute medical records for all five Compass clinics. A strong understanding of medical office operations, as well as high level of computer competency are desirable skills for this position. Experience in medical records is a plus! ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Copies, mails, and/or faxes patient chart information as requested and authorized, documenting all processes.
Assists in preparing and filing all internal and external correspondence and medical reports into patients' electronic medical record according to filing system.
Makes copies of dictated interval notes accordingly.
Assists in purging deceased and inactive charts as scheduled and according to guidelines.
Sends outgoing faxes and distributes incoming faxes.
Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
Prepares correspondence, memos, forms and other typing as requested by supervisor.
Experience and Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years' experience, preferably in a medical office setting
Previous experience in a medical records experience preferred
