The Agricultural and Natural Resources (ANR) Program Leader provides leadership and coordination for the development and implementation of the statewide agriculture and natural resources program to fulfill the mission and objectives of Cooperative Extension at N.C. A&T and the North Carolina Cooperative Extension System. The position is responsible for managing NC A&T's Extension specialists and associates in coordination with county agents and agriculture technicians to achieve a comprehensive and collaborative statewide ANR program that impacts the economic, environmental or social conditions of small, socially disadvantaged, and minority farmers in North Carolina.

Cooperative Extension at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is an educational outreach organization within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. Cooperative Extension at A&T provides researched-based educational information, programming and technical assistance to limited-resource audiences that address a diverse range of issues in four programmatic areas – Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, Community and Rural Development, and 4-H Youth Development. Together with its partners – North Carolina State University Cooperative Extension Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, state and county governments, a dynamic and resourceful system is formed. In addition to campus operations, Cooperative Extension at N.C. A&T has professionally staffed offices in almost half of the 100 counties in North Carolina and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian Nation.

Earned Ph.D./Ed.D. in an agriculture or natural resources discipline (plant, animal, agriculture business management, farm safety) adult education or other pertinent related field. Applicants with a doctorate degree in progress will also be considered. Degree must be completed by date of hire. A minimum of seven years of experience working effectively in the Extension system at state and/or local level. Essential experience includes:
demonstrated ability in designing, implementing, evaluating and report impact of community-based, non-formal educational programs
supervision of professional and support employees
resource development and management Candidate must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, knowledge of Extension's educational delivery systems and other aspects of the land grant system; ability to identify and build on the strengths of the organization and staff, strong leadership skills, including experience in coaching, team-building, resource management and partnership development.
