The Ophthalmic Technician Lead positions are front-line staff in the Department of Ophthalmology, interacting with patients, physicians and other staff.
We expect that all persons will be treated with respect and dignity in a courteous manner, anticipating and fulfilling others’ needs while respecting their privacy. We expect our staff to provide care in support of our goal to be a preferred patient care provider.
The Ophthalmic Technician Lead will perform patient intake, initiating documentation of the patient’s chief complains, medical history/review of systems and medication reconciliation.
This position will perform all standard preliminary vision testing and demonstrate proficiency in specialized ophthalmic diagnostic testing and follow all safety procedures per protocol guidelines. This position will also monitor patient flow and ensure that patients are moving from intake to diagnostics to physician.
Another key component of this position will be training new staff and students in ophthalmic diagnostics, ensuring that all Ophthalmic Technicians meet competencies in various diagnostics.
