Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, Field Operations, the Assistant Support Technician will assist with the support, operation, and security of campus-wide electronic learning environments, conference rooms, specialty rooms and videoconferencing events. The hours for this role are Monday-Friday from 2pm - 10pm.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provides excellent customer service and maintains good relationships with clients and department/school administration. -Maintains and supports computer hardware, printer hardware, media presentation systems, audiovisual components, network issues, lecture capture technologies and related equipment that exist in these facilities. - Performs routine and proactive maintenance/checks upon arrival of shift. -Provides technical support locally, remotely, and via the telephone. -Provides on-call support for Client Support Services (Help Desk), end users, developers, and operations staff, or automated tools regarding availability, performance or functionality problems. -Monitors incident management system and responds to alerts for multiple hard/software issues. -All other duties as assigned.
General Minimum Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required. -Minimum 2-4 years' related experience.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: -Knowledge of audiovisual hardware. -Knowledge of personal computer hardware. -Completes work on time and to expected standards. Must be self-motivated and detail oriented. -Must be willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. -Ability to work effectively with internal and external personnel. -Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences. -Must be able to perform manual labor when required (e.g. paper deliveries, computer furniture/equipment, A/V furniture/equipment). -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. -Demonstrated excellence in a variety of competencies including teamwork/collaboration, analytical thinking, communication and influencing skills, and technical expertise. -Ability to work with changing priorities and with multiple projects. -Ability to be precise and attentive to detail is essential. -Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications: -CTS Certification. - Knowledge of Lecture Capture systems. -Familiarity with Crestron Hardware and software technology. -Basic understanding of network protocols and configurations. -Previous experience in higher education. -Crestron ToolBox. -Basic understanding of printer hardware.
