Department Name: H5000: CHANDLER - RETAIL PHARMACY
Assists pharmacists in data entry of patient information, prescription processing, medication preparation and distribution for the Meds-To-Beds Delivery program of the Chandler Retail Pharmacy or Good Samaritan Retail Pharmacy operating within the University of KY Ambulatory Pharmacy Services. Collects prescriptions and personal information, including insurance information, from patient rooms, over the phone, via fax or through the electronic medical record systems. Performs basic math skills. Fills prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, including non-sterile compounding. Delivers prescriptions to patient's bedside and collects payment. Uses a point of sale system and multiple computer devices and programs.
This position requires dependability, and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Kentucky Board of Pharmacy Registration PTCB Registration
Two years of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have 2 years of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
