The Parking Cashier (Accounting Technician I) provides customer service, assists students, faculty, staff, and the general public regarding the University's parking and transportation programs, rules and regulations. Sells and issues parking permits, transportation products, and accepts payments for parking ticket violations. Performs cashiering services, collecting and receipting parking and transportation fees and charges by entering data into an automated cashiering and parking management system. Accepts written appeals for parking tickets, researches information on department parking management and cashiering systems. Provides clerical and administrative support, including data entry, answers telephone calls, resolves complaints, and responds to inquiries (verbally and in writing). Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications: Completion of a high school program or equivalent. Equivalent to two years of general office, clerical or financial record-keeping experience which has provided the above knowledge and abilities. Previous cashiering experience, bank teller, or retail experience. Strong customer service orientation/experience required. Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of general office practices and experience in basic arithmetic calculations, including experience including basic cashiering and balancing cash duties. Must be able to handle multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment and have the ability to learn, interpret and apply a wide variety of University policies and procedures. Ability to work in a public service environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Ability to identify and solve routine problems.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
