The AV Support Technician provides user support for and maintains technology-enabled classrooms and meeting spaces at the Ohio State University including new technology installation and regular preventative maintenance. The AV Support Technician also works with other members of ODEE to ensure the technology installed in these spaces is compatible with and conforming to a set of rigorous technology standards. The AV Support Technician will be familiar with current and emerging trends in instructional and presentation technology, and be able to demonstrate an understanding of how technology can enable a variety of teaching methods. The AV Support Technician may be required to work a flexible schedule, which could occasionally include evening and/or weekends.
Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated proficiency in the operation, maintenance and installation of AV systems including but not limited to projection, display, audio, and control systems; ability to read AV schematic diagrams and architectural drawings; basic computing and networking knowledge; proven record of providing excellent service in a technical environment; strong interpersonal and communications skills; strong technical/mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and logically solve problems in high pressure situations; ability to use radio, hand tools, power tools and electrical/electronic testing equipment, climb ladders and scaffolding up to 10 feet, lift equipment up to 50 pounds, operate vehicles, walk to campus wide locations, and use phones; high motivation and excellent customer service skills are necessary for this position.
INFOCOMMCTS certification; experience working in audio-visual technology or instructional technology installing audio, display, and computing equipment systems; experience in an academic environment; knowledge of component level repair of various electronics including but not limited to amplifiers, projectors, and various power supplies.
Target Salary: $19.24 - $23.07 Hourly
