Under general supervision, the Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for design, analysis, test, release and support of industrial power conversion and AC motor drive products, consistent with company and industry standards for quality, safety and reliability while optimizing cost and manufacturability. This position reports to an Engineering Team Lead, works closely with the regional and global design team as part of a cross functional team and will be mainly involved in design activities.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of Low voltage electrical cabinet mechanical design experience. Be able to manipulate large assemblies (>200 components) effectively.
Proficiency with mechanical CAD software (AutoCAD, Pro/E Cero) and MS Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Good at English skills.
Familiarity with RA products. Knowledge of industrial motor drives and/or motion control technology and industry trends. Experience with industrial power electronics and electronics packaging requirements.
Understand and practice laboratory procedures for the safe and efficient use of electrical power, rotating electrical machinery, hand tools, power tools, model shop machinery, and general laboratory cleanliness.
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) processes.
