Wood is seeking an ORION ScanSortSM Environmental Field Team Leader to oversee the safe, proper, and efficient operations of the ORION ScanSortSM system, a proprietary, complex, conveyor-based soil sorting system that segregates soils based on radiological content. Ensure that the system is operated and maintained in accordance with established controls and procedures. Identify and respond appropriately to unexpected conditions. Eagerly and adeptly understand and apply new concepts and technologies. Interpret data and perform oversight of data integrity and quality control. Provide work direction to other technician staff. Location is Luckey FUSRAP project near Luckey, OH.
Key Responsibilities •Oversee the safe, proper, and efficient operations of the ORION ScanSortSM system •Critically and analytically assess electronics, machinery, and data to ensure proper operations •Identify, troubleshoot, and rectify deviations from normal operating conditions •Securely manage, analyze, and interpret various sensitive data streams •Use specialized equipment to collect & manage data and prepare analyses & reports •Maintain logs of field activities •Effectively communicate with clients, regulators, field technicians, and equipment operators •Set up, maintain, and calibrate equipment
Skills / Qualifications •Minimum of 2 years environmental field work or other directly relevant experience •AS or BS degree or 2 years experience in a STEM field strongly preferred •Basic knowledge of software communications and networking •Working knowledge of gamma spectroscopy •Mechanical knowledge of conveyors, motors, and VFDs preferred •Electrical knowledge, including 120VAC, 3-phase 480VAC, and DC circuitry preferred •Computer proficiency to include Windows OS and MS Office, especially Excel and Access •Understanding of applicable scientific methods and technical methodologies •Ability to understand and follow radiation protection procedures and use radiological equipment in an effective and safe manner •Ability to understand procedural manuals and execute work orders •Ability to write and prepare reports and documentation •Ability to follow instructions with attention to detail •Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a wide range of audiences •Ability to work independently and with a team •Current HAZWOPER and Radiation Worker Training preferred •Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required •Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds •Must pass drug test, physical for DOT and respirator use, background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy
