Full Time; Career Minimum Starting Salary: $19.73/hourly.

Under the direct supervision of one of the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems (CASFS) site managers, incumbent will oversee the second-year apprentices work in the day-to-day operation of the CASFS Farm and Garden and the Apprenticeship in Ecological Horticulture. Incumbent is not a second-year apprentice, and the responsibilities include directing and managing the second-year apprentices as needed. General areas of responsibility include assisting in maintaining the fields, gardens, orchards, greenhouses, and facilities.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Must possess a valid license to drive in the State of California.
A Certificate in Ecological Horticulture.
Ability to move materials weighing up to 50lbs. with or without accommodation.
Ability to work with others in a garden and/or field setting.
Ability to deliver information in a clear and thorough manner.
Ability to effectively and tactfully interact with diverse groups of people and work in a team situation.
Demonstration of interpersonal skills, with effective and respectful communication being key. Interest in working closely with people in service-type work.
Ability to balance taking direction, timely task completion as per plant/soil needs, production schedules, etc., as well as working and learning independently on core topics.
