While managing the HT support staff, activities associated with the configuration, maintenance, and installation of server applications and hardware, as well as the identification, prioritization, & resolution of reported problems related to overall personnel computer activity are conducted. Ensures that all phases of IT support are coordinated, monitored, logged, tracked, & resolved appropriately, while assigning personnel to various operations & directing their activities through resolution. Training of department staff/end users are also conducted.Establishes/implements technology policies, procedures, and standards, while ensuring their conformance with information systems goals & procedures. Through the AD of Housing Technology's oversight, security procedures are implemented/enforced, & departmental IT plans/priorities to address resource and operational challenges are gathered/recommended to management. Advises leadership on the effective use of internal data processing, automated office systems, & data communications, while maintaining currency in new developments & technology. Manages all activities related to planning, researching, & evaluating new technology integration, systems development, methodologies, data admin., capacity planning, training, and technical support.Responsibilities:-General Program Oversight & Management: Provide oversight/guidance for the HT program. Provide maintenance and development for HouseNet, Persona, & StarRez systems. Coordinate with University Information Technology Services (ITS) on other related business systems/services readiness, establishing business functionality requirement, documentation & staff training. Develop budget & monitor expenses for HT with Sr. Associate Dir. for Occupancy & Administration. Develop & present systems training as needed.-Administrative Computing: Provide support/coordination for desktop computing and new technology within College Housing and Residential Services. Handle special projects as designated. Support department websites, file sharing, departmental databases, & electronic records.-Staff Supervision and Development: Supervise one full-time professional staff member (HT Coordinator) & indirectly supervise a team of student staff. Provide direction/prioritization of tasks & processes. Select, train, supervise/evaluate student staff, with the assistance of the HT Coordinator, Housing Technology Assistants (HTAs) & Housing Technology Technicians (HTTs). HTA & HTT student staff members provide basic IT troubleshooting support for on-campus residents, including maintenance of residence hall computer labs, & printers.-Coordination with ITS & Vendors: Act as main point of contact w/ ITS in providing & enhancing ITS services. These include wired/wireless network services in residence halls, telecommunications, web-hosting, network storage, application support/mtce., data-feeds, digital signage, IPTV systems, procurement & purchasing, strategic new projects/initiatives, & others. Work with IT related departmental vendors.-Electronic Lock Program Support: Provide oversight, maintenance, & updates of the Persona Offline system database and the client interface with HouseNet & StarRez.-Resident Computer Labs and Printing: Provide oversight, maintenance, repair, replacement, & update of lab computers, associated software, & licenses in the residence halls with the assistance of student & professional staff teams. Provide support/contract oversight for resident hall printing programs/services. Act as liaison to campus printing system.-University Commitments: Represent CH&RS on division & University committees.-Continual Education: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging IT systems, tools and technologies. -Research, evaluate/recommend system technologies to support enterprise requirements. Maintain/create technical & user documentation.
