The Information Technology Technician is responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks. Provides technical support and teach staff the basic skills they need to operate newly installed programs.
Essential Job Functions
Install, monitor, and repair network infrastructure, including routers, switches, wireless access point, cabling, and related equipment and software
Provide technical assistance to computer system users
Answer questions or resolve computer problems for employees in person, via telephone or from remote location
Provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems
Participate in disaster recovery and capacity management
Provide system upgrades
Solve computer problems and enable computer technology to meet the needs of the organization
Perform system studies to assist organization to realize maximum benefit from investments in equipment, personnel, and business processes
Assist in planning and designing new computer systems or devices ways to apply existing systems resources to additional operations
Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system
Write detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program
Prepare and submit records and reports as required to the Director of Information Systems
Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships
Display the highest ethical and professional judgment, behavior and standards
Associate’s degree in a computer related field. Prefer a Bachelor’s degree.
A minimum of one to three years of experience in Information Technology
Some working knowledge of multiple software packages and hardware systems and applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
