Light Board Programmer reports to Yale School of Drama/Yale Repertory Theatre (YSD/YRT) Stage Carpenter and Lighting Supervisor. In concert with student and guest lighting designers, works as a member of YRT stage crew during technical and dress rehearsals and performances, while maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship, efficiency, and safety. In concert with student master electricians, assists in the installation and maintenance of lighting plot for productions.

Required Skill/ability 1: Knowledge of Electronic Theatre Control (ETC) lighting software.Demonstrated knowledge of theory and techniques in theatrical lighting products, design and special effects.
Required Skill/ability 2: Demonstrated knowledge of programming, maintenance and of intelligent lighting equipment and LED units. Working knowledge of national and local electric codes, electrical theory and applications.
Required Skill/ability 3: Strongly demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively w/faculty, staff, students, interns, guest artists and other professionals representing a wide diversity of personalities. Dem. ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Required Skill/ability 4: Calm and collected under pressure with a strongly demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, follow schedules and follow rapid instructions. Demonstrated ability to receive and operate cues during tech rehearsals and performance.
Required Skill/ability 5: Ability to work flexible hours including frequent nights and weekends and occasional holidays.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills: Knowledge of AutoCAD and Vectorworks software, Strand Lighting controls, Mac & PC computer systems, and projection equipment & software troubleshooting. Knowledge of current Lightwright system.
Required Licenses Or Certifications: Valid driver's license.
Four years of related work experience, two of them in the same job family at the next lower level, and a high school level education; or two years of related work experience and an Associate's degree; or the equivalent combination of experience and education. Professional or college-level experience as a Light Board Programmer on the ETC Eos platform.
