Job Posting: The Cardiac Sonographer will perform complex diagnostic ultrasound and vascular procedures of the cardiovascular and vascular systems for diagnosis and treatment under the general direction of a physician. The sonographer is responsible for ensuring excellence in the delivery of patient care through the proper execution of care standards, physician orders, and advanced imaging skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for performance of all types of cardiac ultrasound examinations: Adult Echocardiography, Stress Echo imaging studies, Pharmacologic Stress Echo imaging studies, Contrast Echo studies, and Vascular studies Explains procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and, when necessary, signed consent and to address any questions that may arise. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Graduate from a two (2) year accredited ultrasound or echocardiography school. At least one (1) year of experience as a sonographer. Sonographer must be proficient in stress echocardiography as well as resting studies. Applicant must be Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) certified. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: RDCS, ARDMS or CCI and RVT certification.
